NT-MDT Hosts Workshop on Techniques of AFM, Raman, SNOM & TERS
Dr. Olga Kazakova Speaking at Bath Workshop |
Dr. Sergey Lemeshko speaks about Solver Nano |
NT-MDT Were delighted to host a workshop for our customers in Bath University on Thursday and Friday 7th to 8th of May 2015. The workshop was opened by Jessica Ryan from the Sales and Marketing Team in Limerick, Ireland.
Over 20 people attended the workshop along with key personnel from NT-MDT Dr. Stanislav Leesment from NT-MDT Headquarters in Zelenograd who gave an excellent speech on “Electrical and Nanomechanical Studies with Atomic Force Microscopy.” And Dr. Sergey Lemeshko from the NT-MDT office in Appledorn in the Netherlands who spoke about “Co-localized AFM/Raman/SNOM microscopy and Tip Enhanced Raman Scattering”
NT-MDT were also excited to have three guest speakers from high profile universities in the UK with excellent credentials in their field of expertise Prof. Asa Barber from University of Portsmouth, Dr. Olga Kazakova from NPL London and Prof Sonia Contera from University of Oxford.
On both days attendees enjoyed lectures and live demonstrations at the workshop were they able to see the microscopes in action. The applications engineering team had spent hours to set up the NTEGRA Spectra, Titanium and Solver Nano devices and were on hand to show scans taking place and results being shared in real time. This was a high point for the attendees as it gave them an opportunity to see the samples they had brought with them being demonstrated live. It was also an exciting time for attendees to see the new Thermal Cabinet being showcased prior to it being presented at EMRS in Lille, France. The new isothermal cabinet provides a low-thermal drift environment for scanning probe microscopes.
The workshop ended with an Acknowledgement speech from Ashvin Cherodian who is sales manager for UK, Ireland and Scandinavia.
